In my dojo, I expect all adults to become teachers. I have no time for students who only want to learn, but never teach.
Teaching is part of the learning process. It is very selfish to train only for yourself.
I have heard some people say that they hate to teach children. Unless we teach children, the art will eventually die.
I named our research organization the Hawaii Karate Seinenkai (youth group) because I feel that teaching the next generation is essential.
